 ASO-EBI: Heartbeat of an occasion.

Yes! You would agree with me that there is no occasion that is complete without the appearance of aso-ebi. Either it is a wedding, burial, special thanksgiving or retirement party, there is no limit to the use of the aso-ebi.

Originally,aso-ebi as the name implies has its root in the yoruba speaking tribe of western Nigeria but undoubtedly in recent times,it has cut across tribe, religion, gender and even race because it's use is not restricted to Africa only.

These days, when one is invited to an occasion, one's heart skips a beat because one's account is about to take a dip. The usual thing after the invitation is the unveiling of the aso-ebi which costs more(prices these days are not smiling) depending on the fabric collection ranging from geles,ankara,lace,velvet,aso-oke and so on. Trust me,the list is inexhaustible, whew!
Sincerely speaking, the overall look of the outfit collection adds glamour to a quintessential gathering but I am sure some people's closet would be over filled with about one million and one fabrics due to the number of parties attended or not(as some people buy and end up not attending the party).

Just before you laugh out loud at what I am saying or at people directly affected by my claim above, take a close look at your closet and count.
Really I think everyone is guilty as charged.

There will always be a reason to celebrate and I am sure if one goes to an occasion and is not adorned with aso-ebi,one will definitely feel like an alien. Well parties, parties, parties is equal to money, money, money.
Don't get this wrong, you should celebrate with your friends, colleagues, relatives etc but also put into consideration your financial status. Don't buy aso-ebi and drink garri afterwards, I have seen people do this before.

One's presence at an occasion should be a priceless gift to the celebrant whether one appears in an aso-ebi or not. So if you can afford to buy as many as possible, please do but if you can't,don't feel ostracised.
Appear looking good and radiant and don't forget to go handy.
Aso-ebi is timeless and would remain for a very long time so one just has to be wise.

Keep the invitations coming, LOL and a hearty congratulations to everyone celebrating this season.
